If history teaches us anything, it’s that we should deal with the world as it is, not as we wish it to be. With their contagious spirit of curiosity, Allora and Calzadilla bring to light the dark borders of a supposed paradise. Palm trees, rising like trophies of a tropical Eden, are in fact relics planted by the US Military to demarcate areas where they dumped munitions and industrial waste over the course of their 60-year occupation of Puerto Rico.
