Their presence and the reverence surrounding them is hard to ignore even though few people, among international tourists and traveling Latinos alike, know who any of the figures are. What do these powerful icons stand for if history continues to fail us? Alejandro de la Guerra is re-constructing new narratives by embracing these statues, demystifying some of the stereotypes surrounding these untouchable figures of history.
